The Malawi Olympic Committee (MOC) has sent four coaches to Zambia to undergo a Coaches Development Training under the programme funded by NIF.
The coaches are:
- Twambilire Chalemba and Peter Pemba- Volleyball
- Owen Mfune- Tennis
- Christopher Chilasa- Judo
- James Mangani- Malawi Olympic Committee
The training will last for six months and this is the first module. Upon completion, the Coach Developers are expected to become Trainers of Trainers (ToT) who will be training local coaches in Malawi.
This programme is part of MOC’s capacity building initiative for technical personnel.
The training has attracted coaches from Malawi, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
The MOC/NIF partnership is expiring next year and we are hopeful it will be renewed. MOC is very grateful to the NIF partnership which has shown great improvement in bridging the gaps that existed through its continued support.
We wish our coaches all the best!
