Malawi Olympic Committee (MOC) is conducting a 9 days technical course for coaches in Taekwondo level one. The course has started today 23 July in Lilongwe at Kamuzu Institute for Sports with 17 coaches and will run up to 31 July, 2023.

Mr. Edgard Mayamba, a World Taekwondo Expert from the Democratic Republic of Congo is facilitating the Course.
Speaking during the Opening Ceremony, the Guest of honor, Hon. Jappie Mhango, the President of Malawi Olympic Committee thanked Taekwondo Association of Malawi for developing the couches. He also encouraged participants to shine and make the Taekwondo vibrant sport in the Country.

He encouraged the participants to perform to their best after the course. He further said that individual sports such as Taekwondo are easy to develop and produce desirable results than team sports.
“Allow those in leadership to lead, those in technical do the technical work and let coaches be coaches”, Mhango advised the participants.
MOC President then welcomed the expert from Democratic republic of Congo and asked him to deliver his best everything prepared.
On his part, Taekwondo Expert, Mr. Edgard Mayamba said he is ready to impart the knowledge and Taekwondo skills the coaches.
Taking his turn, Mr. Tichitechi Chitty Nkhwazi who is President for Taekwondo Association of Malawi thanked MOC for supporting the development of sports in the country. Nkhwazi then encouraged the participants not to take this opportunity for granted but rather utilize the chance to the best for them to become good Coaches.
The course is funded by International Olympic Committee (IOC) through the Olympic Solidarity.
