The President, Hon. Jappie Mhango, and the Director General, Mrs. Naomie Chinatu, of the Malawi Olympic Committee (MOC) respectively, are in Nagoya, Japan attending the 20th Asian Games Aichi-Nagoya 2026, officially opening from 19th September to 4th October 2026.
The Games have brought together Olympic leaders from across the world, providing an important platform for exchange and benchmarking ahead of major Olympic events.
On the sidelines of the Games, the President and Director General are also attending the Association of National Olympic Committees of Africa (ANOCA) General Assembly, where key issues affecting the Olympic Movement in Africa are being discussed, including:
– Preparations for the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games — the first ever Olympic event on African soil;
– African Schools Games, Abuja 2027
– Africa Beach Games, Riaba 2027
– African Youth Games, Addis Ababa 2027
– African Games, Cairo 2027
– Strengthening solidarity and cooperation among African National Olympic Committees.
