 Chiotcha's bout stopped in 2nd round
 

In Athletics, Kenya based Lucia Chandamale and Chancy Master were also disgrace as they failed to shine at the competition. Chandamale finished on position 12 out of 13 in the 5000m women category while Chancy finishing on position 8 out of 11 in the 1500m mens category. In Taekwondo, Malawi's representatives were outclassed by their opponents as their performance also left a lot to be desired.  Chris Dzikolidaya lost to a Nigerian opponents after scoring half a point against his opponent's four points.  Andrew Soole was defeated by Lesotho opponent after e scored a single point against seven points.  In Weightlifting, Malawi's  representative Frank Msulidza was disqualified after it was discovered that he was overweight.  Msulidza was expelled after weighing in revealed that he was 72Kg and not 62Kg as indicated on entry forms.
